Activity Fifteen - Balloon Tennis

Description:  Children are to use the tennis racket to hit the balloon up in the air by themselves and hit it to a partner. 

​

Materials:

  1. Balloon

  2. Mini Racket

  3. PECS (picture exchange cards)

Inquiry: Children are to inquire the skills of being able to bounce and balance the balloon on the tennis racket and hit it to another person. 

​

Objectives/Outcomes: The objective of this activity is that gives kids all sorts of opportunities to exercise their gross motor skills as they jump, leap, stretch, and balance.

​

Language: Children are Non-Verbal. Minimal signs include; notice face of others, smiles and smiles when talked to, babble noises, points to colours, points to the picture exchange photos.

 

Reflection: The activity was somewhat successful. The children needed hand over hand support  but they did love the balloon and the motion of playing tennis, working with others and overall just giggling and having fun.
