Description:

Children were to listen to a story, then master the skills acquired to a provocation. By being asked the question "Can you make your own monster", the provocation was to engage children in the use of a variety of provided materials to make a play-dough monster. The provocation provokes emotions, imagination, communication & fine motor skills; there is no right or wrong way to create, so children felt rewarded with what they created on their own with no assistance.

Materials:

"Go Away Big Green Monster!" Book; fake hair with clips, mini bones, spiders, googly eyes, buttons, pipe cleaners, cut outs of different sized straws, play-dough.
